We are pleased to introduce a new Mathcad File Types Plugin.

Unlike its predecessor https://smath.com/forum/topic/qBonoQ/XMCD-File-Type-plugin, the new plugin supports both the legacy Mathcad 13–15 format (XMCD) and Mathcad Prime format (MCDX) in a single package. Our long-term goal is for it to fully replace the older plugin. For now, both temporary remain available to ensure backward compatibility.

Both plugins now operate on a freemium model: a limited number of regions can be imported for free, while full import of larger documents requires a paid license. We hope this gives users a fair opportunity to evaluate the plugin with real files before deciding whether to purchase.

At this stage, our focus has been on the most commonly used region types rather than achieving complete coverage. This work is ongoing, and we warmly welcome feedback on which region types or features should be prioritized next.

• Requirements: SMath Studio 1.4.0.9654 or later (previous versions are not supported as the recent SMath Core version is needed)
